What people say about us

"Vision, energy, method. For design to work, for it to make an impact and a positive difference in the world, then this is what it needs: the vision to see things differently; the energy to inspire and enable change; the methods that are right and imaginative in redefining design to meet the challenges of a new age. This is what Snook offers. They are leading representatives of a new generation of design thinkers and doers who will make change happen."

What lessons the rest of the UK – and the world – can learn from social enterprise in Scotland?

This looks interesting. Will you be there?

“Scotland has been at the top of the news agenda in the British media in recent days because of the disagreement between the UK government and the Scottish government over the timing and content of a referendum on independence.

But in social enterprise, Scotland has been in the news for other reasons.

This year, Social Enterprise UK and Social Enterprise Scotland are joining forces to host the world’s biggest social enterprise event at theScottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow. Voice and S2S are combining to provide what the organisers hope will be a “better-than-ever event for everyone in the growing social enterprise sphere” with over 1000 delegates and 150 business exhibitors.

Also, social enterprise leaders look enviously at the support which the Scottish government is providing to its social enterprises.

What better time than to look at the state of social enterprise in Scotland. In this live Q&A, we’ll explore:

• The strengths and weaknesses of Scottish social enterprises – which sectors are doing well, and which sectors are finding it tougher?

• Support for social enterprise – what is the Scottish government – and Scottish local government – doing right, and what lessons are there for the rest of the UK and the rest of the world?
