Design led research

Design-led research is a way of understanding the world . Snook like to get our hands dirty, we get directly involved, rather than observe from a far. We keep people at the centre of our process so they are at the heart of our research too.

Most importantly, we bring you along the way so when we leave you can continue to do research this way. We use design tools to show you exactly what your organisation looks like; we hold a mirror up so you can truly understand how things feel.

Snook design tools that encourage people to tell us exactly how they feel about a service. We recently used journey maps to capture the customer’s experience of a careers service on paper.

Journey maps breaks down the experience step by step by recording interactions with touch points and considering how the customer feels at each stage of the journey. We use various design tools to communicate a service proposition at any point during the development process and document a service at a macro or micro level.

What people say about us

"Service Design is not an approach that is commonly understood or used in the not for profit arts and cultural sector. Once we had come to an understanding that the kind of 'service' MMM was focusing on was not a traditional transactional one, Snook's expert guidance enabled us to begin utilising a very effective set of tools 'in the service' of our mission and the design of our new peer-led knowledge network which aims to be 'of service' to the people and the organisations we work with."
