Snook's Lauren is a Future Gov Assiciate

ALISS ( Access to Local Information to Support Self Management) is a Scottish Government project which aims to improve access to local support which will help people self manage long term conditions.

People with long term conditions often report that although support to manage their condition may be available, it can be very difficult to find. Lauren is preparing and facilitating three MyExperience workshops with  carers and patients. Her research for ALISS focuses on new social relationships and the value that arises from individual contributions from an increasingly diverse and multicultural society.  This work will result in a self management framework identifying existing support systems. This will provide a map for staff and the public, including details of the different kind of support available at each sage of the patient journey.

The team are working with school children embedding ALISS into the Curriculum for Excellence. The pupils are asked what w ill your future be? | how do you feel about long term conditions | what does the word local mean to you.

Lauren is working with the Future Gov team to create a blueprint for a social enterprise with the results of this project.
